Mountain Tea (Sideritis)

Sideritis is a delicous herbal tea, a real treasure of the Mediteranean and Aegean mountains. It appears first on 700 meters and can resist up to 1200 meters altitude where the air is fresh and very few population is around.It is collected at the blooming time in the months of June and July. The herb is rich in ethereal oils and flavonoide.

Sideritis herbal tea is commonly prepared by decoction, by boiling the stems, leaves and flowers in a pot of water, then often serving with honey and lemon.

It has been traditionally used to aid digestion, strengthen the immune system and suppress common cold, the flu and other viruses, allergies and shortness of breath, sinus congestion, even pain and mild anxiety.
